Job Description
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Assist in performing adjustments and repairs to brakes, transmissions, ignition and lighting systems, cooling and heating systems, and other rolling stock.
- Assist in inspections, replacing of parts and making adjustments to keep equipment in good working order.
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in rolling stock in order to identify and perform necessary repairs.
- Assist in performing body and fender repair and painting.
- Completes documentation for all work performed in a timely manner.
- Maintains good housekeeping in the shop to promote efficiency in completing repair and maintenance services.
- Adheres to hazards and safety precautions of the mechanical trade; wears personal protective equipment as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
- Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma, preferable with courses in automotive mechanics.
- Experience repairing/servicing heavy equipment, including gas/diesel engines preferred.
- Basic knowledge of computers helpful.
- Basic math to perform daily tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid Hawaii driver’s license and clean traffic abstract.
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
